Learn how to make your very own Cranberry Sauce in 10 minutes, for Christmas or Thanksgiving turkey. It tastes so much better than the shop bought stuff, plus it’s easy and affordable. I add a touch of orange to for some tang and a drop of port as it’s festive.

300g / 2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1 eating apple, peeled and chopped into small bits
Juice of 1 orange
Zest of 1 orange
125g / ¾ cup caster sugar
5 tbsp / ¼ cup /50ml Port
¼ tsp allspice
Pop all the ingredients into a large saucepan apart from 1 tablespoon of the port and bring to the boil. Turn heat down and leave to simmer uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes or until it goes thick and mushy. When it’s ready stir in the last tablespoon of port.
