We’ve lusted after the FS700, we miss the 1080p slomo on the FS100/700, can the C100 do anything in slow motion?
Well a long time ago, we knew that the Sony Z1’s HDV could be slowed down by deinterlacing the fields of its HDV then scaling the whole thing down to DV – result: beautiful 50% slomo.
So, here we’re doing the same thing: use interlaced 1080i to capture twice the frame rate, then play with the 1080i image to make each field into a frame. FCPX is very kind to the image and does one of the best de-interlacing jobs ever.
If you need step by step recipes for how to do this, let me know.
